AccraMax™: a new approach to mandrel resurfacing
Until now, resurfacing standard mandrels meant either bringing a mobile machining rig to the mill or pulling the entire mandrel/shaft assembly and sending it to a machine shop. Both options are cumbersome, expensive, and often create multi-day downtime.
The innovative AccraMax mandrel uses removable wear plates that can be changed out in 15 minutes or less. Instead of pulling the whole mandrel, you simply swap plates in the machine and send the worn plates out for resurfacing—dramatically reducing downtime.
Because AccraMax plates are precision-machined for an ideal fit to the blade, you get much better cut accuracy, longer blade life, and the ability to maintain tighter tolerances instead of over-correcting during resurfacing. Many mills choose to change plates more often for higher and more consistent product quality, instead of waiting until cut quality is intolerable.
