Troyer Brothers Inc.
Engineering & Design
Engineering & design for real-world manufacturing
Troyer Brothers turns ideas into parts, machines, and complete systems that actually run on the shop floor. Our in-house engineering team designs for manufacturability from day one, so you get practical solutions that are easy to build, maintain, and scale.
What our Engineering & Design team does
Whether you’re starting from a sketch on a napkin, an existing machine that needs improvement, or a partial CAD model, we help you bridge the gap between concept and production.
Our engineers and designers work side-by-side with our fabrication, machining, hydraulics, and controls teams, so every design is grounded in how it will actually be built and used.
- 3D CAD modeling and detailing for weldments, assemblies, and machined components
- Design for manufacturability (DFM) to reduce complexity, cost, and lead time
- Hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical system design
- Integration with custom controls, PLC/HMI panels, and safety devices
- Retrofits and upgrades for existing equipment to improve reliability and performance
How the design process works
We keep the process straightforward and transparent, with clear checkpoints so you always know where your project stands.
- Discovery & requirements – We review your parts, drawings, specs, and goals, then define clear requirements for function, safety, and budget.
- Concept development – We propose one or more design approaches, highlighting trade-offs in cost, footprint, and complexity.
- Detailed design – We develop full 3D models, detail drawings, and bill of materials (BOM), aligned with your in-house standards where needed.
- Review & refinement – We walk through the design with you, capturing feedback and making revisions before anything is cut, welded, or machined.
- Build & support – Because we also fabricate and assemble, we can carry your design all the way through manufacturing, testing, and commissioning.
You can plug us in at the concept stage, bring us in to clean up legacy designs, or ask us to engineer around real-world constraints on your floor. Either way, the goal is the same: equipment that works the way you expect it to.
Why partner with Troyer Brothers for engineering & design?
Most design work looks good on a screen. Our job is to make sure it works just as well once it’s welded, wired, and put to work.
- Hands-on manufacturing experience – Your designs are reviewed and refined by people who also build, assemble, and troubleshoot equipment every day.
- One roof, fewer hand-offs – Engineering, fabrication, machining, hydraulics, and controls are all in the same building, which cuts delays and miscommunication.
- Practical, service-friendly designs – We engineer with access, maintenance, and future upgrades in mind so your team can live with the equipment long term.
- Flexible engagement – We can handle full projects, focus on specific subassemblies, or support your in-house engineering team as an extension of your staff.
If you have a new product in mind, an existing machine that needs improvement, or a one-off fixture or station that has to “just work,” our engineering and design team can help you get there.
