What our Industrial Automation team provides

We help automate and connect equipment across your facility — from standalone machines and cells to full production lines. That can include PLC and HMI work, coordinated motion, safety, data collection, and communication between new and existing systems.

Because automation sits on top of real machines, weldments, hydraulics, and people, we work directly with our fabrication, machining, controls, and assembly teams so what’s designed on paper actually works on the floor and is supportable by your maintenance staff.

  • Automation upgrades for existing machines, cells, and lines
  • Integration of PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, servos, sensors, and safety devices
  • New automated stations for handling, assembly, inspection, and material movement
  • Line control, interlocks, and coordination between multiple pieces of equipment
  • Data, alarms, and visibility to help operators and maintenance see what’s happening

How our automation project process works

  1. Discovery & goals – We walk through your process, bottlenecks, and pain points to define what automation should actually achieve: throughput, consistency, safety, labor support, or visibility.
  2. Concept & scope – We outline practical automation options, from targeted machine upgrades to new cells or line-level coordination, and align on scope, budget, and timeline.
  3. Design & build – Mechanical, hydraulic, and controls design happen together. We build the equipment, panels, and wiring in-house, keeping automation decisions tied to the physical machine.
  4. Programming & simulation – PLCs, HMIs, drives, and safety are programmed and tested as much as possible on our floor to shorten commissioning time at your facility.
  5. Startup, tuning & support – We support installation, debug, and tuning, and can provide adjustments as operators and maintenance live with the system.

Whether you’re starting with a single manual step you’d like to automate or looking at a larger line or plant initiative, we focus on changes that deliver real, noticeable improvements without overcomplicating your operation.

Why choose Troyer Brothers for industrial automation?

Automation is most effective when it’s grounded in how machines are actually built, maintained, and run. With fabrication, machining, hydraulics, controls, and assembly all under one roof, we design automation that respects the realities of your plant — not just what looks good in a drawing.

  • Real-world mindset – Automation designed by people who also build, wire, plumb, and commission machines on the floor.
  • Fewer vendors, fewer gaps – Mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and controls decisions are coordinated in one place instead of scattered across multiple suppliers.
  • Serviceable systems – Clear documentation, labeling, and panel layouts aimed at making life easier for in-house maintenance and electricians.
  • Right-sized solutions – From modest upgrades to new automated cells, we match the level of automation to your process, budget, and support structure.

If you’re exploring automation to reduce downtime, improve throughput, or support your team, we can help you sort through options and build something that fits the way you actually run.
